During December, colleagues at our Gloucester branch came together to donate items and create a hamper in support of the Gloucestershire Forces Hub and Roots Café.
Pictured is Chris Auker-Howlett from the Gloucestershire Forces Hub with Mark Jones, collecting the hamper.
Chris spoke about the important role Roots Café plays as a welcoming community space, supporting a wide range of groups including veterans, people experiencing homelessness and wellbeing initiatives. The donated items were shared via the café’s free access fridge, helping provide essential food for those in need, including homeless veterans.
The Gloucestershire Forces Hub works to combat loneliness and provides a single point of contact for support, including mental wellbeing advice, housing and employment assistance, links to military and civilian charities, and promoting awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Roots Café is a not-for-profit community café and refill shop in Gloucester, with all profits reinvested into local activities, offering an inclusive and accessible space for the community.
A big thank you to our Gloucester team for their generosity, and to both organisations for the vital work they do supporting people across Gloucestershire.
