Added 14th August:
We want to reassure you that WARNERS is fully committed to supporting all affected customers quickly and efficiently.
In Gloucestershire, around 2,000 airbags require replacement. WARNERS have a well-organised plan in place and we are currently completing 40 - 50 replacements each day. Wherever possible, our trained Citroën technicians are carrying out these replacements off-site—right on customers’ driveways—for added convenience. Each airbag replacement typically takes about two hours to complete.
To help ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible, please follow the steps below:
– This 17-character code (beginning with VR7 or VF7) can be found on your V5C registration certificate.
– Once an airbag module has been issued by Citroën UK, your details will be forwarded to us at WARNERS. A member of the WARNERS TAKATA Booking Team will then contact you to schedule your free airbag replacement.
If you need to speak with a member of the WARNERS TAKATA Booking Team after following the steps above, please call 01452 529755 for Gloucester or 01684 297575 for Tewkesbury and select Option 0. We kindly ask that you do not use the general WARNERS online enquiry form, as the quickest way to receive a response is by phone. The WARNERS TAKATA Booking Team is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
DS Customers: DS-branded airbags (with the DS logo on the steering wheel) are currently in limited supply. To get you back on the road as quickly as possible, we may offer to fit a Citroën-branded airbag instead. If you would prefer to wait for a DS-branded airbag, please let our team member know when they contact you to arrange your appointment.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep you safe and get you back on the road as soon as possible.
Warm regards,
The WARNERS Citroën Team
At this stage, we don’t have a confirmed timeline, as we’re still waiting for the necessary parts to arrive. Once they’re in, we’ll be in touch right away to schedule your booking. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
While most airbags will deploy safely, some are at higher risk—especially if they have been exposed to heat and humidity and if the vehicle is older.
Over 100 million inflators in more than 30 car brands are impacted, including models from Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, BMW, Chrysler, Citroën and many more manufactured roughly between 2002–2018 .
No. All TAKATA related airbag replacements are free of charge, including parts and labour, under national laws and manufacturer policies.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to carry out any work on the vehicle until the recall parts have arrived and the necessary repairs are completed.
At this time, we don’t have a confirmed delivery date for the replacement airbags. We’re actively monitoring updates from the supplier and will notify you as soon as we receive an estimated timeframe. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.
